Hello ...

My name is Giacomo John. Since my mom is busy taking care of me, she doesn't have a lot of time to create posts. I thought I would give it a try.

I am 10 months old with denim eyes and golden hair. Most people say I look like my mom but don't let the blonde hair and blue eyes fool you, I have a lot of Dolce in me, too. My doctor says I am little for my age but that doesn't stop me. I am constantly on the go. I have been crawling since I was 8 months old. It seemed like all of a sudden one day I was able to sit up and crawl. What a great day that was! I really don't like sitting still let alone lying down. My least favorite part of the day is lying down to get my diaper changed, OK, aside from getting my face and hands wiped off. In addition to crawling, I am also doing a ton of furniture cruising. I am getting pretty good at this walking thing. I think any day now I am going to give my first step a try. I just need to figure out a few more things. My walker has really been helping me out. I use it to cruise all around the house.

I have 4 teeth. I finally got the top two. I have had the bottom front two since about six months. Two more top teeth are about to break through giving me a total of six. I can't wait to see what I can eat then. The lack of teeth doesn't stop me from eating now, though. Boy, can I eat. I love Cheerios, grapes, waffles, watermelon, Cheerios, brocoli, bananas, peaches, pears, hummus, Cheerios, Goldfish, pasta, cheese, sweet potatos ... pretty much in that order. And when in doubt, I'll have more Cheerios. This brings me to my first properly used word. When I enjoy what I am eating, I always say "Yum, Yum". In addition to all of those great foods, I also love to eat dirt, sand, grass, rocks, tissues, baby wipes, and soap. This has lead my Grandma Y to teach me how to say "Yuck", which I say with gusto and a throaty "ck" as I continue to shovel handfuls of the forbidden substance in my mouth.

My favorite objects have wheels or spin. I almost got kicked out of the Las Vegas airport on the way home from California because I kept playing with the wheels on everyone's wheelchairs. I am just learning how to crawl and push trucks at the same time. Sometimes I will make car noises and say "Vroom". I also love cell phones. Not the toy or used ones that I have all to myself but usually the one that someone else is holding or using. I also love remote controls, plastic containers, musical instruments and books. I typically prefer rummaging through cabinets, digging through my mom's purse, climbing the stairs, and watching the dryer spin over playing with my toys.

At night I sleep with a pacifer and a little fleece blue blanket that my Grammie Migas made me. I always listen to my Little Einstein aquarium to fall asleep. I go to bed around 7:30 - 8 p.m. The last half hour of the day I get to play in my room with my mom and my dad. It's great just hanging out with them. I usually get up around 6 - 6:30 a.m. when my mom gets me up because she has to go to work. This has become a habit so I even wake up around this time on the weekends. Typically I will have a bottle and immediately go back to bed, sometimes until 8:30 a.m. My mom and dad love when I sleep in. I also take 2 - 3 naps during the day, averaging 1 1/2 hours.

I guess that is all for now. I hope I have filled you in with all of the details you needed. Next time my mom falls behind in letting you know all about me, I'll try to write again. Later.
