Giacomo gets a hair cut

Giacomo received his first hair cut two weekends ago. Sorry it has taken me so long to post the video. He was absolutely great. We put him in his Bumbo with his pacifier and he barely moved a muscle. John's cousin, Nicole, was supposed to cut his hair but she ended up being sick. I know she was very disappointed to not be able to make it. Her mother, John's Aunt Sharyn, took her place and cut it instead. He looks so cute with the new 'do.

Where is Spring!?

The weather here has been terrible. It was 6 degrees yesterday when we got up. It has been so cold. Much of the snow melted last week and then we got another two inches this week. It is getting so old. Today it was in the 40s and sunny so Giacomo and I decided to take a walk. One of the benefits of working at home some days. I just bought Giacomo a new pair of Baby Banz sunglasses to protect his beautiful blues. He actually wore them with no complaints. I bought a new car this week. I guess I should say SUV. It's a Nissan Pathfinder. John finally talked me into getting something bigger. We were finding ourselves really squeezed in my Subaru wagon. It was also terribly difficult to get Giacomo in and out of his car seat with the wagon being so low. I absolutely loved the car but we decide it was time. The wagon was still worth something so I got a pretty good trade-in. We also had a family friend that could get us the employee deal with Nissan so the price was right. I am really excited about it. I never thought I would have a big car or an automatic!

Laughing

Giacomo is becoming soooo much fun. He loves to play and smile and laugh. Here is some video of him really laughing at his Daddy.

Mmm I love Sweet Potatoes

Giacomo started eating vegetables this week. He did not like carrots. He did not do well with green beans. Grammie Migas said I probably tried them a little too early. I should have known, he doesn't do well when I eat beans. He does love sweet potatoes, though. It's difficult to tell with them smeared all over himself. I swear, some of them did get in his mouth. We also tried pears today and they went over very well.

Giacomo has also been sleeping much better. It is still not unusual for us to have to let him cry for about 1/2 hour between 9 and 10 p.m. This is about four hours after his last feeding. That is the only reason I can figure that he always wakes up at this time. If we let him cry, he sleeps until his 3 a.m. feeding. If we go in right away, he wakes up every hour afterwards. Despite how much I hate letting him cry, it's worth it. The Pediatrician says he should give up his 3 a.m. feeding soon. I have a feeling I am going to have to encourage him to give it up.

We went to the Pediatrician last week. Giacomo is doing great. He is very strong, but a little on the small side. When he was born, he was in the 80th percentile. Now he is in the 20th. The Pediatrician said it was OK as long as everything was growing in proportion, which it is. We're still hoping he starts a growth spurt and starts getting bigger. He is currently 13 pounds, 13 ounces and 24 1/2 inches.
